Tennis is a game played between two players, which is called a singles game. A tennis game played by two teams of two people each is called doubles. In the game of tennis, each player uses a racket to hit a rubber ball made out of felt material over a netted fence into the court of the opponent. It can be played by anyone of any age, as long as they can hold a racket even if they are in wheelchairs.

There are only two kinds of equipment involved in tennis: a racket, and a ball. The racket is simply made out of a neck and a handle which meet in an elliptical frame which holds tightly pulled strings. There are certain rules in tennis regarding how the racket is used:

1. The racket’s hitting area, made of strings, should be flat and uniform
2. The hitting area’s frame should be no bigger than 29 inches in length, 12.5 inches in width
3. The racket’s design must conform to fixed dimensions, including weight, height, and shape.
4. There must be no form of communication provided by the racket that enables players to derive messages from it.

On the other hand, the tennis ball used is created hollow with a felt covering. Originally, it was created in a white color but has evolved to being used in a bright yellow color to improve visibility.

The game of tennis is played on a rectangular flat surface, usually made out of grass or clay, as well as a hard court made out of graphite. The court is 78 feet long, and 27 feet wide for singles matches, but for doubles matches is 36 feet wide. Across the width of the court is a full net, which divides it into two equal areas for the players.
